For our Honeymoon we spent three weeks exploring Vietnam, amazing country, lovely people, fantastic food and a very different culture. I’d definitely recommend people visit it if they get a chance.

We flew into Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and spent a couple of days exploring the city and it’s bustling markets, before a three day tour of the Mekong Delta and it’s remarkable floating markets.

After that we started to slowly make our way up the coast towards Hanoi, taking in a beautiful private island just off the coast of Nha Trang, as well as the chilled out town of Hoi An and the imperial city of Hue.

We ended the trip with a three day cruise on Ha Long Bay and a couple of nights in Hanoi, before the long journey home.

And it’s left us with a lifetime of memories, how good the people were with our then 3 year old daughter, how the best food was the street food, because the restaurants toned all of the food down for westerners as they didn’t think we’d like it spicy! And the incredible sights everywhere we went.

If you get a chance, go, and travel like the locals do, on the re-unification express train that runs the entire length of the country, you won’t regret it.
