I’ve seen loads of photographers ask where you can get free music for slideshows. The only issue with using free music for slideshows, is that it’s mostly pretty rubbish. There is some great stuff out there, but trawling through all of the not so good stuff to find it is just a waste of time.

Licencing popular tracks is expensive, I have had brides ask for specific tracks, but the licencing cost for using something by a popular act is likely to run into the hundreds of pounds. So while I’m happy to do this if my clients are happy to cover the licencing cost, it’s obviously not practical for the bulk of the slideshows I do. Either as wedding previews or promotional ads.

So where does that leave you if you want good music for your slideshows, but you don’t want to spend a fortune?

Enter SoundStripe. They’ve struck a deal with all sorts of artists, labels, producers and distributors to give a low-cost high-quality model for licencing music. It’s subscription based, with no minimum term, so you can either pay for a month when you need it. Or yearly, if you know you’re going to need it often. And it’s got a diverse library full of tracks either with or without vocals, split by genre, mood and tempo. Plus some neat playlists with ideas for usage, be it commercial, wedding ceremony, evening do, or a 30 second jingle.

And all this for $15 a month at the moment, so really affordable!

I’m very impressed with it so far, and the guys at SoundStripe have agreed that anyone who signs up through my referral link below and uses the code ADPhotos can have 10% off either their first month, or first year.  Check out the video,
